Starting early

Lex was playing with a pack of Morning Glory seeds at the store one day, so when we got to the checkout I threw them in with the order. A few weeks ago I was looking for something to do with my toddlers and decided to plant the seeds in plastic cups. I read in a magazine (Martha Stewart Kids, I think) and they had the seeds beautifully pressed between two glasses. As I nursed the baby my toddlers threw drenched towels into plastic cups (I don't have glasses that fit inside one another and I wasn't about to give those toddlers glasses anyway), threw the seeds in by the handful, the decided that the harder they pressed down with the red cups the better the seeds would grow. Needless to say I didn't have much hope and was quite surprised to see actual growth a few days later. A few weeks later we had this:

After awhile I thought it best to put the little plants into dirt. I'm not really a gardener so I'm mostly just guessing here. So one day, as another toddler project, we put the plants into plantable containers. We also started some tomatoes from seed. Those are TINY seeds. Since the toddlers were doing the planting I have no idea what will happen, or even if we have seeds in each of the pots :) I'm also a little confused because each time I water the plants the pots seem to disintegrate a little bit. Hopefully they last until spring!
